The New South Wales Breakers crushed the Queensland Fire by seven wickets in the Women's Twenty20 at Allan Border Field on Sunday.
After electing to bowl, the Breakers had Lisa Sthalekar take 4-25 to help reduce the hosts to 8-117 from their 20 overs.
Jodie Fields (43 off 45) and Melissa Bulow (34 off 29) combined for a 49-run second-wicket stand to help the Fire to 2-53.
Sthalekar and Ellyse Perry (2-20) slowed the Queenslanders down through the middle order before Delissa Kimmence (18) joined Fields at the crease.
But once the Fire pair departed, no-one else could get going and they batted out their 20 overs to set what appeared to be a reasonable target.
Jemma Barsby (2-25) removed Alyssa Healy (eight) with the score at 18 before Leah Poulton and Alex Blackwell combined to put the Breakers in control.
Poulton (45 off 36) hit five fours and a six as the duo put on 67 for the second wicket.
Sthalekar managed 18 off 12 balls before she was caught by Courtney Hill while chasing a third boundary.
Blackwell struck a more patient 36 off 31 balls to be at the crease when the winning runs were scored off the fifth ball of the 15th over.
