Australian opener David Warner said he was still confident of keeping his place at the top of the order, despite struggling to find form.
Warner fell to Dale Steyn for just four in the first Test against South Africa in Brisbane, as Australia slumped to 3-40 in their first innings before a Michael Clarke double century bailed out the home side to earn a draw in the series opener.
The New South Welshman's Test average has slipped below 40, but Warner insisted he doesn't feel under pressure heading towards next week's second Test in Adelaide.
"I'm feeling good - I'm nice and refreshed," Warner said.
"I'm ready to go again, ready to get out there and I'll hit a lot of balls this week leading up to the second Test.
"As long as we're winning the games and we can all try score as many runs as we can, individually and collectively as a group, we're going to be on our way to No.1, hopefully."
Warner believes star all-rounder Shane Watson is crucial to the team and he hopes he can make a quick return from injury.
"To have an all-rounder is fantastic for us and we know what Shane can do," Warner said.
"If he gets that opportunity to come out and prove what he can do, he can bat and bowl and take wickets for Australia."
Warner added that even if Watson isn't fit to bowl, his batting figures are good enough to be considered Australia's specialist No.3 batsman.
"Shane's put some numbers on the board and he's a very good batsman, a very good No.3," Warner said.
"Any time I get to play with Shane, I love batting with Shane, whether it's opening the batting or batting three.
"Just having him in the team, the class of player he is, brings a lot of experience to the team."
