VicSpirit created Women's National Cricket League history on Saturday, amassing 3-418 against SA Scorpions on a day when records tumbled in Melbourne.
The run feast at Camberwell Sports Field easily surpassed the previous highest team score – 5-395 set by New South Wales Breakers against Tasmanian Roar in 2010.
The records don't stop there.
Not surprisingly, the Vics claimed a bonus point after bowling the Scorpions out for 219 in the 49th over to complete a 199-run victory – the second highest WNCL winning margin.
The downtrodden SA bowling attack had nowhere to hide as VicSpirit clubbed a total of 52 boundaries and 10 sixes in the hot Melbourne sunshine.
Elyse Villani was at the heart of the domination.
The Scorpions could only watch on as she smashed her way to 173, only to fall just two runs short of team-mate Meg Lanning's record for the highest individual score in the WNCL set just a fortnight ago in Canberra.
Villani, on the fringe of national selection ahead of February's women's 50-over World Cup, helped herself to an incredible 22 fours and cleared the rope six times.
She had a worthy ally in Jess Cameron.
Returning from injury, the 20-year-old belted a century in just 56 deliveries before eventually falling for 128 off 68 balls off the final ball of the 49th over with 18 fours and four sixes.
Lanning also contributed, making 52 off 80 balls at the top of the order and Emma Inglis played a stunning unbeaten cameo of 33 in 19 balls, while skipper Kelly Applebee only saw six balls but managed 10 runs in the final over.
In their desperation the Scorpions used eight bowlers, with medium pacer Lauren Ebsary copping the most punishment, though she did snare a wicket to finish 1-73 from six overs.
Despite facing a mountainous run chase, the visitors made a bad start when openers Alex Price, run out for two, and Rhianna Peate, bowled by Kristen Beames for 19, fell cheaply.
But all-rounder Ebsary restored some pride for the South Australians by crafting 111 from 113 balls including nine fours and two sixes.
Beth Morgan (31 from 33 balls) and No.10 batter Kate Oakenfold (21 from 35) also provided resistance.
But it was never going to be enough as left-armer Kirsty Lamb (2-33 from nine overs), off-spinner Molly Strano (2-56 from 10) and seamer Briana Binch (2-33 from nine) ensured the Vics claimed their second win of the summer to stay in touch with competition leaders NSW Breakers and Western Fury.
