ACT Meteors have cruised to a six-wicket victory over Western Fury in their WNCL clash in Queanbeyan on Saturday.
Fury captain Nicole Bolton won the toss and elected to bat first but that decision played right into the hosts' hands as they proceeded to dismiss WA for just 159.
Spinner Sally Moylan was the chief destroyer for ACT with the brilliant figures of 4-30 from her seven overs while fellow tweaker Kris Britt (2-14 off four) was the other multiple wicket-taker.
The Fury were looking steady at one stage on 1-75 but, with Moylan and Britt tearing through their middle order, lost their last nine wickets for just 82 runs.
Opener Jenny Wallace top-scored for WA with 41 off 60 balls and a cautious Heather Graham (29 off 61) provided some rare resistance further down the order.
In response, the Meteors got off to an uneasy start when they were reduced to 1-15 after Laura Wright (five off 29) was caught by Wallace off the bowling of Suzannah Bates (1-21 off five).
But the hosts recovered and, thanks largely to a 102-run fourth-wicket partnership between top-scorer Britt (51 off 71) and Rhiannon Dick (48 not out off 75), chased down their victory target with 44 balls to spare to finish on 4-163.
Bolton (1-16 off three) and Gemma Triscari (1-22 off eight) were the other wicket-takers for WA.
