Touring the sub-continent is always a great test for any team and player.
The challenge to perform and win a series against India in India is not a feat taken lightly and the Australian Men’s team has arrived in search of just that.
Once again, I’ll be blogging to you all from inside the camp and hopefully give you a taste of what life is like on tour with the Australian Cricket Team on our VB Tour of India.
Along with some video blogs with some of my team-mates, we will recap what has been happening on and off the field and have a few laughs with you along the way.
Already it has been a busy few days in India since arriving in three groups of players.
We have now gathered in Chennai as we prepare for the first of four Tests starting on the 22nd of February.
That preparation has included a drawn two-day warm-up match against an Indian Board XI.
It was a great hit out to begin preparing for the Test and to get accustomed to the different conditions we face in the sub-continent.
Before this however, I was lucky enough to arrive earlier in the week and spend a couple nights in Mumbai with the Australian Women’s Cricket Team,
The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars are also chasing a huge win in India.
The Aussie girls are contesting the ICC Women’s One-day World Cup in Mumbai and have had a great tournament so far.
Although suffering a slight hiccup yesterday against the West Indies, the girls have shown some great form.
All players have contributed and the Stars will now play in the World Cup final against the West Indies on Sunday.
Be sure to tune into Fox Sports in Australia or onto http://www.cricket.com.au/series/2013-icc-womens-world-cup to support the girls and follow them to hopefully another World Cup trophy for Australian Cricket.
Back to Chennai, we have a big week of preparation in the lead up to the first Test with another warm-up match scheduled for Friday.
All the guys here are looking forward to the challenges that we will face over the next seven weeks and we are all raring to go!
So make sure you all follow the news on www.cricket.com.au and stay tuned for my next blog as I grab one of the boys to join me and we can all get to know him a little better.
Till next time,
