Karen Rolton today stands poised to become the highest run scorer in the history of women’s cricket as she is now just 31-runs shy of former captain Belinda Clark’s all-time mark of 4844.
With a staggering highest score of 154* and an average of 48.14 at the One Day level over her fifteen-year career, Rolton has proved herself as one of the world’s premier batsman in all three forms of the game.
It’s fitting that the 34-year old South Australian will have the opportunity to break the record against England, a side who she has scored 971 Test runs against at an average of 60.68 in the Women’s Ashes.
