Nathan Bracken is following in the footsteps of MoMentors Dennis Lillee and Max Walker with his new moustache, as seen in this snap from home during the week. The NSW and Australian bowler is recuperating from surgery and experimenting with the new look, ‘I’m enjoying the mo, not sure if my wife is though!” Bracken said.

And at Thursday night’s Bradman Oration, the grandson of the greatest cricketer of them all , Sir Donald Bradman, spoke about the fact he was supporting Movember. It’s a largely overlooked that ‘the Don’ even grew a moustache in the 1980s, so the Movember and cricket connection spreads to the sport’s most famous name.
While in the Movember Cricket Club race to win a training session with an Australian player, the pacesetting Lane Cove Cricket Club in Sydney (or as the Axl Rose-channeling team is named, ‘Cove’s Movember rain’) still leads the way, with Dalyellup Beach Cricket Club in Western Australia nipping at their heels. Below them Calivil CC and Hoppers Crossing (both in Victoria) have risen up the rankings and look to be coming with a rush towards the end of the month.
The top 5 at 20 November:
1.Lane Cove CC-(NSW)
2. Dalyellup Beach CC (WA)
3.Calivil CC (VIC)
4.Hoppers Crossing CC (VIC)
5.North Gambier CC (SA)
All cricket clubs in Australia are encouraged to register their club as Movember teams and show support for men’s health. The Movember Foundation supports the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyond blue: the national depression initiative.
