Cricket Australia has announced a partnership with Qantas – a deal extending four years from Boxing Day 2011, uniting Australia’s favourite team with Australia’s national carrier.
The partnership will be made official at the MCG on Boxing Day, just after the coin toss (10.10am) for the Vodafone Boxing Day Test, with a flyover of a Qantas A380 at 1000 ft.
Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland is thrilled to welcome Qantas as a new sponsor.
“We are so pleased to welcome Qantas into the Cricket Australia family. The partnership makes perfect sense with the Spirit of Australia joining forces with our much loved sport,” he said.
“This partnership will ensure the Australian Cricket teams have the best travel experience both in Australia and internationally,”
“The Australian cricket teams and support staff spend much of their year travelling, and we are thrilled to be travelling on Qantas and enjoy their high level of service.”
Qantas CEO, Alan Joyce said Qantas is pleased to be the Official Airline and Sponsor of Cricket Australia.
“Cricket in Australia in summer is one of the world’s great sporting experiences and as the national carrier we wish the Australian team the very best of luck for the forthcoming series.”
