VicSpirit elect to bat

UPDATED 13 February, 2013 11:57AM AEST |

The Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit have won the toss and elected to bat during today’s WT20 Final against New South Wales at Etihad Stadium.

The VicSpirit will be aiming for their third consecutive WT20 title after defeating NSW in the first two editions of the competition, with the traditional rivals poised to resume on-field hostilities from 2.40pm this afternoon.

Molly Strano has been left out of the starting XI for the hosts, while Keeghan Tucker will carry the drinks for the Breakers.
Prior to the start of today’s final, the two teams had clashed on seven occasions in Twenty20s; with the ledger all square at three apiece with one no result.
The Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit boast no less than six players chasing their third consecutive title, namely Emma Inglis, Jess Cameron, Kristen Beams, Sarah Elliott, Meg Lanning and Elyse Villani, while NSW’s Rachael Haynes will be hoping to do likewise after skippering the Vics to consecutive wins before crossing to the Breakers.
