Retiring Australian legend Ricky Ponting said goodbye to his home crowd and Test cricket in Tasmania for the last time.
It was an eventful first day in the first Vodafone Test Match between Australia and Sri Lanka at Blundstone Arena. Australia finished the day in a good position thanks largely to a fighting knock by Phil Hughes, but one of the highlights of the day and possibly the summer was a stunning catch by Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene to dismiss Shane Watson.
