Governor-General to present Rose Bowl trophy

Cricket Australia (CA) today announced that the Governor-General Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO will present the Rose Bowl trophy to the winning captain at the final match of the Rose Bowl Series tomorrow at North Sydney Oval.

The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars have already secured the Rose Bowl, having taken a 2-1 series lead, needing only to draw the series to retain the trophy.

The Governor-General is a tremendous supporter of women’s cricket and looks forward to attending the final match of the series.

Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars captain Jodie Fields said the team appreciates the Governor-General’s ongoing support and interest in the team.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing the Governor-General at Wednesday’s match,” Fields said.

“She has long been a great supporter of our team and of women’s cricket and we appreciate her ongoing encouragement.”

The Rose Bowl Series between the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars and the New Zealand White Ferns will be live streamed on Cricket Australia’s website at: The stream is only available in Australia and New Zealand.
