Kohli climbs to fifth

UPDATED 12 February, 2013 3:57PM AEST | by Omnisport

Virat Kohli has finished 2012 in a career-best fifth in the ICC Twenty20 batting rankings.

The Indian batsman scored a total of 95 runs in recent two-game series against England and Pakistan which saw his rating move to 731, a total of 101 points behind leader Shane Watson.

In the ICC T20 Championship Table, Sri Lanka remained on top after India missed the chance to move to No.1.

The Indians were held to 1-1 series draws against both England and Pakistan, meaning they retained third place on 119 points with West Indies three points ahead in second.
