A tight bowling display has helped Western Fury to a 21-run win over SA Scorpions in their Women's Twenty20 clash at the WACA.
The Fury set the Scorpions a modest chase of 122 after winning the toss and electing to bat.
Opener Jenny Wallace top scored with 35 for the Fury, including four boundaries, while Chloe Piparo chipped in with an unbeaten 32.
Scorpion bowler Lauren Ebsary was the best for her side taking 2-22 in restricting the Fury to an obtainable score.
The Scorpions got off to a great start in their chase with opener Beth Morgan hitting a quick-fire 34 before being dismissed LBW by Emma Biss - who was the Fury's best bowler with figures of 2-15 from her four overs.
A series of three run-outs stopped the Scorpions in their tracks including the important wicket of Bridget Patterson, who hit a free-scoring 25.
The steady wicket loss slowed the run rate and the Scorpions could only make 7-101 from their 20 overs handing the Fury an important win.
