Former Australian Captain said he is disappointed to be dropped from ODI squad but wants to play on in Tests.
Ricky Ponting has announced he will not retire from Test cricket.
"I will continue playing Test cricket and cricket for Tasmania as well. I think I've proven to everyone and myself I'm still capable of dominating after my form in the series against India and I'm looking forward to playing the last few shield games for Tasmania."
"I don't expect to play ODI cricket anymore and I wouldn't expect to be picked."
Ricky Ponting was appointed captain of Australia in March 2004 and captain 77 Tests.
Of those 77 48 were wins, more than any other Test skipper. When Ponting stood down as Captain after the Ashes series in 2011, he retired with a winning record of 62.33 per cent.
