South Australia will look to respond from their Sheffield Shield thrashing to Victoria on Sunday when the interstate rivals meet at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday in the Ryobi One-Day Cup for the second of their quadrella of matches.
The Redbacks were smashed by 186-runs as the Bushrangers ensured the SA side remained at the bottom and winless in Shield cricket since November 2010.
Although on the verge of a third consecutive wooden spoon in the four-day format the Redbacks are experiencing differing fortunes in the Ryobi Cup where they sit in second with four wins and two losses.
The 2010-11 T20 Big Bash champions have collected a further two bonus points and have the luxury of a game in hand, sitting four points behind competition leaders Tasmania.
However the Redbacks will face a rampant Victorian side in third on 13 points, primed for a late finals assault.
Prior to last Sunday's resounding victory, Bushrangers captain Cameron fired a warning shot at South Australia when he admitted his side had pencilled in the four back-to-back Shield and Ryobi Cup clashes across February as 'winnable games'.
White further described the Redbacks fixtures as the 'perfect opportunity' to gather late momentum and charge into the finals of both formats.
Despite youth the priority late in the summer, the Redbacks have made their intent clear to win the Ryobi Cup as they prepare for a dramatic finish.
The return of the long-term injured Gary Putland for the crucial clash signals that intent.
Putland, who was in rare early season form, has not played for the Redbacks since injuring his hamstring in a Shield game against New South Wales in November 2011.
The 25-year-old will be joined in the extended 13-man squad by fellow fast bowler Chadd Sayers following impressive form in SA grade cricket for Woodville and young batsman James Smith, who will be eager to improve on his gallant Shield knock of 76 against the Bushrangers last week.
All-rounder Dan Christian, still on national duty will miss while paceman Kane Richardson is also omitted as he continues to recover from a back injury.
South Australia's tough task to reach the final has become even more menacing with the news Australian representatives Peter Siddle and Aaron Finch have been named in Victoria's 12-man squad.
The duo are joined by exciting young talent, Peter Handscomb, who is rewarded with a spot in the one-day side following his maiden Shield 113-run century on Thursday, and Alex Keath who is also reaping the benefits of an impressive Shield display against the Redbacks after a handy 2-2 from a three over contribution with the ball.
Melbourne Renegades paceman Will Sheridan, wicketkeeper Ryan Carters have also been recalled while off-spinner Daniel Salpietro who played a cameo role late in the Big Bash League for the Adelaide Strikers this season, will debut for the Bushrangers.
The Bushrangers will hope opener Rob Quiney can reproduce his twin-centurion (114 and 119) heroics from the Shield match last week.
The Redbacks will rely on middle-order batsmen Tom Cooper and Callum Ferguson – fresh off an almost game-salvaging132-run partnership – to continue their hot form with the bat in the limited overs format.
Australia A batsman Cooper has struck 255 runs at an average of 85 this season while despite a horror summer in Shield cricket, Ferguson has belted 286 runs at 71.5 and is tied in second spot with Victorian left-hander Quiney behind the recently retired Brad Hodge for the competition's leading run-scorer.
