David Hussey says Matthew Wade has inspired the Australian team with his performances already this summer

Wicket-keeper batsman Wade top-scored with 67 in Australia’s win over India on Sunday night in the tri-series opener, following scores of 32 and 72 in the T20 matches. Sunday night’s match was Wade’s first outing in the 50-over side, although he has played four T20 internationals for his country.
Hussey, who scored 61 runs himself in Sunday’s victory, said he was not surprised at Wade’s immediate impact on international cricket.
“I’ve seen Matt develop since he moved over from Tassie,” Hussey said. “He works extremely hard and for him to do so well in his first couple of games is just fantastic.
“He’s a very classy player and he competes – that’s probably his best attribute. I can just see him going from strength to strength and hopefully he’ll be around for the next ten to 15 years in all forms of the game.”
Hussey added that he still held out hope of a call up to the Test side, although he had not heard from the selectors regarding the West Indies tour.
