Profile

Replacing Adam Gilchrist was never going to be an easy task for Brad Haddin, but the Canberra product has served his country with aplomb for almost 15 years.

Having compiled an impressive international resume, Haddin’s career was at a crossroads in 2012 when personal issues saw him step down from Australia’s tour of the West Indies.

But the veteran returned to international cricket with a bang in 2013, marking his elevation to the vice-captaincy with a record-breaking performance in Australia’s Ashes whitewash.

Haddin passed 50 six times in eight innings against England and also completed 22 catches in a near flawless display behind the stumps.

Along with Darren Lehmann and Michael Clarke, Haddin has also been credited with the regeneration of the Australian team’s culture that led them back to the world No.1 ranking.
