Australian coach Darren Lehmann, who coached the Deccan Chargers for four years and Kings XI Punjab last year in the IPL, said he was looking forward to working with the ODI squad over coming years.
"India is a great place to tour and play cricket," Lehmann told cricket.com.au.
"It's very challenging, as we saw on the recent Test tour, but the players will have learnt a lot from that series and also from playing for various teams in the IPL."
Lehmann took Deccan from the bottom of the ladder in 2008, to the top in his first year with the Twenty20 franchise.
"Over the next few years I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences in the lead-up to the 2015 World Cup and as we look to rise up the ODI rankings.
The first match on the tour is a T20 International in Rajkot on October 10.
