"Gangly but effective"
Consistency is the holy grail for any international sportsman and it is the trait Steven Finn is chasing most of all. When he's good, he's an electric wicket-taker too good for the best batsmen in the game, but when he's bad he's their best friend. With all the attributes to take wickets, Finn has struggled for a variety of reasons at times. Injuries, rhythm, a habit of knocking over the non-striker's stumps in his action, they have all unsettled him in the past 12 months. Yet there have been times, most particularly on the one day tour to India in January where he was simply irresistible.
Tall but lean, Finn is a home grown talent from Hertfordshire and remains the youngest England bowler to get to 50 Test wickets in just his 11th Test at 22 years and 62 days. He has become the shining light at Middlesex and just like Elton John he is a committed Watford fan.
