Cricket Australia launches new advertsising campaign ahead of the 2016-17 International Summer of Cricket

Some of Australia's biggest cricket fans are on show in Cricket Australia's new advertising campaign for the 2016-17 International Summer of Cricket.

The campaign, which launches tonight, encourages Australians of all ages and backgrounds to support the Aussie team this summer and transform the 11 players on the field into a 24-million-strong force taking on South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

The campaign features cricket lovers as diverse as Adrian and his four-year-old son, who spend hours preparing their backyard pitch each summer, and Navy officer Melissa, who plays matches on the ship's deck with the rest of the crew.

And then there's young fan Emma, who loves Mitchell Johnson and Steve Smith and who dreams of one day becoming Australia's captain.

The 2016-17 International Summer of Cricket gets underway in Perth on November 3 with the first of three Commonwealth Bank Tests against South Africa before the series moves to Hobart and Adelaide.

The three-match Victoria Bitter One-Day International Series against New Zealand follows in December, featuring matches in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, before the Commonwealth Bank Test Series against Pakistan that includes a historic day-night Test in Brisbane before the traditional Tests at the MCG and the SCG over the festive period.

The summer will conclude with the five-match Victoria Bitter One Day International Series against Pakistan in January and then the KFC T20 INTL Series against Sri Lanka, played as double headers with the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars matches against New Zealand, in Melbourne, Geelong and Adelaide in February.

Entry level tickets for the International Summer of Cricket are available from just $30 for adults, $10 for children and $65 for families in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Geelong, and from $25 for adults, $8 for children and $54 for families in Hobart.
