Healy regains top spot following huge World Cup

Australia's opener moved to the top of the ODI batting rankings following her stellar World Cup, while two other Aussies make up the top five

Australia's Alyssa Healy has jumped to the top of the ICC ODI rankings following her incredible finish to the World Cup in New Zealand.

Healy smashed 129 against West Indies in the semi-final and 170 against England in the final on her way to being named Player of the Tournament.

The keeper entered the World Cup as the top-ranked batter but dipped to number five after a slow start to the tournament.

However, her back-to-back tons, which saw her finish with the most runs (509) was enough for her to displace teammate Beth Mooney from top spot.

England's Natalie Sciver climbed from fifth place up to second following her remarkable 148 not out in the final, with Mooney, South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt and Australia's Meg Lanning rounding out the top five.

Sciver also knocked Australian Ellyse Perry off top spot in the ODI allrounder rankings, a spot that Perry has largely held since she first reached the summit in July 2017.

The 29-year-old Sciver amassed 436 runs at an average of 72.66 in eight innings in New Zealand, with both of her centuries coming against eventual champions Australia.

Sciver collected four wickets during the tournament while Perry took five, but was unable to bowl after injuring her back against South Africa.

English spinner Sophie Ecclestone remains at the top of the bowlers' rankings after finishing as the World Cup's leading wicket-taker with 21 dismissals at 15.61.

Ecclestone reached number one for the first time in her career earlier in the tournament and holds a considerable lead over the second-ranked bowler, South Africa's Shabnim Ismail.

Australia's Jess Jonassen (third) and Megan Schutt (fourth) remain in the top five while breakout spinner Alana King has jumped a whopping eight spots to sit in a career-high 37th.
