The foundation charity partner back on board for BBL|06 with Lanning and Haddin are named ambassadors
Alannah & Madeline charity links with BBL
Cricket Australia and the Alannah & Madeline Foundation have again joined forces for this summer’s KFC Big Bash and Rebel Women’s Big Bash leagues.
Sydney Sixers captain Brad Haddin and Melbourne Stars and Southern Stars captain Meg Lanning have come on board as Foundation Ambassadors for cricket’s shortest form competition.
The Foundation was also the charity partner for both last season’s Big Bash Leagues, raising more than $20,000 to keep children safe from violence and bullying.

Haddin said as a father the Foundation’s work was vitally important to ensure all children were safe from violence and bullying.
“It’s a great honour to be able to help promote the Foundation’s work,” Haddin said. “It really is comforting to know they are making a child’s best interests the first priority.”
Lanning, who recently visited the Foundation, was amazed at the range and effectiveness of its programs, which are in place right across the country.
“It’s incredible to think that they have helped 1.9 million children,” Lanning said. “Anything I can do to help the Foundation continue its great work is an honour.”
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation CEO Lesley Podesta said the strong relationship with Cricket Australia had enabled the Foundation’s messages to be heard loud and clear.
Ms Podesta thanked both Ambassadors for dedicating their time and effort to help support the Foundation’s programs.
“The Big Bash League is growing in popularity every year thanks to its family-friendly and fun and entertaining format,” she said.

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said he hoped the partnership with the Alannah & Madeline Foundation would continue to grow in the years to come.

“We have a special relationship with the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and together I hope we can help protect as many children as possible,” Mr Sutherland said.
The Foundation has helped protect almost two million children through its care, prevention and advocacy programs during the past 19 years. This year the Foundation marked the 20th anniversary of the Port Arthur tragedy (April 1996) and will next year celebrate the 20th anniversary of its own launch (April 1997).
