Record numbers, unforgettable moments in a special season

With Australia’s Test series against South Africa off to a winning start, and the ICC World Twenty20 fast approaching, Cricket Australia has reflected on an amazing 2013-14 season of international and Big Bash League cricket.

On-field successes throughout the season included Australia’s memorable 5-0 victory in the Commonwealth Bank Ashes Series, a 4-1 winning score line in the Carlton Mid One Day International Series and a clean sweep of the three KFC T20 INTLs.

Despite its series loss, Australia’s women’s team, the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars, battled hard with England throughout the Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes contest of Test, One-Day International and T20 cricket.

The Perth Scorchers, meanwhile, broke through for their first KFC T20 Big Bash League title in what was a magnificent BBL tournament.

There were also of plenty of highlights off the field thanks to the support of cricket fans across the country, with record match attendances, record television viewership, and record engagement with Cricket Australia digital destinations all achieved in the 2013-14 season.
