Aussies make one change for crucial clash

Bangladesh win the toss and elect to bat under cloudy London skies

Australia have made one change from the XI that faced New Zealand on Friday, with leg-spinner Adam Zampa replacing allrounder John Hastings for the must-win clash against Bangladesh at The Oval.

Hastings claimed 2-69 against the Black Caps but was Australia's most successful bowler in the abandoned fixture at Edgbaston.

While spin was expected to play a key role later in the tournament due to the wear and tear on the highly-trafficked wickets, South African Imran Tahir's stunning four-wicket display against Sri Lanka on Saturday may have been the catalyst for Zampa's inclusion.

Despite missing out on Friday's Group A game against Australia's trans-Tasman rivals, the leggie has been ready to rip in since arriving in England.

"I think the general feeling is that the wickets here will slow up in the back end of the tournament," Zampa said prior to the tournament.

"I'm preparing for that, but I'm prepared to play every game.

"We've been selecting teams in the last 24 months (based) on the conditions and with the fire power we have with the ball, it's always handy to have."

Tahir turns tide with awesome spell

Australia's selectors have kept the same batting unit that stuttered in Birmingham before rain saved the day.

Test legend Shane Warne tweeted his ideal Australia XI for the Bangladesh clash with Zampa coming in for allrounder Moises Henriques.

Match wrap: Wet and wild in trans-Tasman tussle

Henriques made a 14-ball 18 which included four boundaries against the Black Caps and will get another chance in the middle order on Monday evening.
