Frequent flyers: Four nations in three weeks

No time to rest in Australia’s hectic schedule with players spread halfway across the globe

There might be just four games of international cricket left in the Australian summer, but there’s no rest in sight for the Australian cricket team. Players will be spread across four countries in the coming weeks with series against Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and India to be played in one-day, Twenty20 and Test formats.

With one squad of ODI players locked in a series with Pakistan, another has been named for the Chappell-Hadlee three-match series in New Zealand later this month.

Seven of the players that will face New Zealand will then head directly to the United Arab Emirates where Australia will use the ICC Academy facilities in Dubai for a training camp.

A similar training camp at the same venue was held by England in 2012 ahead of their 2-1 series win, and the Australians will be hoping a little of that rubs off on them.

And while Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie are in the dugout when an Australia T20 team faces Sri Lanka, half a world away Australia's Test team will be getting to grips with the subcontinent in a three-day tour match in Mumbai. Allowing for India's timezone, the hours of play in both matches will overlap and both should finish about the same time.

With the frequent flyer points racking up and well-thumbed passports at the ready, we unravel the logistical nightmare of who is where and when on the Qantas Tours of New Zealand and India.
