Aussie duo set to take centre stage

Umpires Tucker and Oxenford selected by ICC to officiate in England versus West Indies decider

Steve Smith's side bowed out in the Super 10s phase of the ICC World T20 but there will still be some Australian representation in the men's final in Kolkata tomorrow evening when West Indies and England take centre stage.

The International Cricket Council has announced the four-man group of officials who will oversee the tournament decider, with Australia pair Rod Tucker and Bruce Oxenford named alongside Sri Lankan Kumar Dharmasena and South African Marais Erasmus.

Tucker will be an on-field umpire with Dharmasena, while Oxenford will fill the role of fourth umpire and Erasmus will take third umpire duties.

All four members of the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees have previous first-class experience as players, with Tucker best known as a former Tasmania representative, who played 103 first-class matches in total, and Oxenford appearing eight times for Queensland.

Erasmus played 53 first-class matches while Dharmasena was part of Sri Lanka's national side between 1993 and 2004, appearing in 31 Tests and 141 ODIs.  

The on-field umpires for the women’s final, which will feature the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars taking on West Indies, will be Pakistan's Aleem Dar and Englishman Richard Illingworth, with fellow Englishman Nigel Llong as third umpire and Indian S Ravi as fourth umpire.
