Red-hot Dunk continues good form

In-form Tasmanian smashes a double century in Premier cricket

Tasmania batsman Ben Dunk continued his excellent recent form by smashing an impressive double century in Premier cricket on Saturday.

Dunk made 210 from just 177 balls while turning out for Glenorchy in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League and in the process guided his side to a dominant position in their two-day clash against North Hobart at the TCA Ground in Hobart.

Quick Single: Dunk keen to keep if Wade absence continues

Dunk hit five sixes and 21 boundaries during his outstanding 282-minute knock as the 28-year-old dispatched the high-quality North Hobart attack to all parts of the ground with ease.

The Tasmanian opener has already scored two centuries in the Sheffield Shield this season and was the 10th leading run scorer - he made 300 runs at an average of 60 - during the Matador Cup last month.

Dunk's best effort during the Matador Cup was an unbeaten 104 against Queensland, while he has managed tons in Tasmania's last two Sheffield Shield matches.

In his past five innings in all matches, he has posted scores of 142, 14, 68, 144* and now 210.

Dunk represented Australia in three Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa last year and has already announced his intentions to play for Australia as a wicketkeeper/batsmen in limited overs cricket this summer should Matthew Wade's injury concerns persist.
