BBL semi-final venues locked in

Adelaide Oval and MCG to host BBL and WBBL finals, but top fours in both competitions are still to be determined

The venues for the KFC Big Bash League semi-finals have been decided, but the final position in the top four won't be determined until the last game of the regular season on Monday night.

The Melbourne Stars secured a Friday night home final at the MCG against the Perth Scorchers after a stunning 52-run victory over the defending champions at the WACA Ground on Saturday.

The Adelaide Strikers will host the other semi-final at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday against one of the Sydney Thunder or the Melbourne Renegades.

The Strikers' opponent will be determined on Monday night when they travel to Melbourne to take on the Renegades, with the home side needing to win by at least 38 runs if they bat first or chase down the target in 15.1 overs should they bat second. Either of those outcomes will see the Renegades jump above the Thunder into fourth place and set-up a re-match with the Strikers in the semi-final. A win for the Strikers or a Renegades victory by a small margin will mean the Strikers will instead host the Thunder.

Saturday night's results also mean the semi-finals for the Rebel Women’s BBL finals will also be held at the Adelaide Oval and MCG, with the women's matches to be played as double-headers with the men's games.
