Fans from across the country will have greater opportunity to experience the BBL in person this year, with an extra eight matches added to the fixture as part of the tournament’s expansion.

Canberra, Geelong, Launceston and Alice Springs are among the locations set to experience the Big Bash for the first time, while ticket prices will remain unchanged for the seventh consecutive season.

It means the Big Bash will enhance it's reputation for fun, affordable family entertainment, with tickets starting from $20 for adults, $5 for kids and $42.50* for families.

“We want the Big Bash to be the most fan accessible and friendly league in Australia and so we’re very proud that for the seventh year in a row, entry level prices to our matches remain unchanged,” said Cricket Australia Head of the Big Bash, Kim McConnie.

“We believe this is going to be one of the most exciting BBL seasons to-date, and we look forward to bringing the fast-paced on-field action and family friendly atmosphere to our fans across Australia, including new locations in Alice Springs, Launceston, Canberra, and Geelong.”

WBBL opening weekend shatters records

The season-opening match between cross-town rivals the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers will be preceded by the launch of the Rebel WBBL|03 season the week prior, including four feature matches at North Sydney Oval across December 9 and 10.

The standalone carnival-style event headlines the beginning of a blockbuster WBBL fixture, including 22 double-headers with the BBL, and 12 matches broadcast live on Network Ten.

The remaining 47 matches will all be livestreamed on the CA digital platforms, including cricket.com.au and the CA Live app.

Cricket Australia have also announced a renewed naming rights deal with long-term partner KFC, who have been the naming rights partner of the Big Bash since BBL|01.

The deal will see KFC maintain their naming rights for the next four years, ensuring the famous KFC Bucketheads will continue to be a prominent aspect of BBL crowds for years to come.

“We’re going to bang our buckets like never before – and we hope BBL fans across the country will join us too.”
