Catching crucial at World Twenty20

Fielding well will be imperative for all teams with aspirations of winning the World Twenty20 tournament in India

Matches can be won and lost in the field and next month's World Twenty20 in India will be no different.

If Australia are to claim their first World T20 title they will need to catch extremely well and skipper Aaron Finch knows just how important this aspect of the game is.

"We didn't help ourselves with our catching, it is something that we have seriously got to look at," Finch said after Australia’s T20I loss to India at the Adelaide Oval last month.

"At the end of the day, no-one means to drop them.

"Everyone trains hard, everyone caught them beautifully at practice."

There were plenty of great grabs during the KFC Big Bash League this summer with the likes of Australia squad members Matthew Wade and James Faulkner among the players that pulled in excellent catches.

The high level of catching on show in BBL|05 has proven contagious, with a similar standard being displayed in the Chappell-Haddlee Trophy series currently locked at one-all across the Tasman.

Take Adam Milne's spectacular grab to dismiss Wade during the second ODI in Wellington on Saturday.

Kane Williamson pulled off a pearler of his own during the opening game of the series that had Glenn Maxwell out for a duck.

Internationally there have been some wonderful efforts too, with England's Ben Stokes seemingly surprising himself when he pulled in this ripper to dismiss Proteas star batsman AB de Villiers.
