Lynn smashes 259 in Premier Cricket

The Queenslander was at his brilliant best in Brisbane Premier Cricket for Toombul

Exciting Queensland batsmen Chris Lynn appears to have fully recovered from his dislocated shoulder, if his performance in Brisbane Premier Cricket on Saturday is any indication.

Lynn scored an entertaining 259 for Toombul in their Queensland Premier Cricket clash against Northern Suburbs at Ken Mackay Oval, smashing an astounding 21 sixes during his 246-ball innings before being dismissed by former Australia Test spinner Nathan Hauritz.

His knock helped Toombul post an imposing 8(dec)-391, with Northern Suburbs limping to 0-22 in reply before stumps were called.

Lynn hurt his shoulder while attempting a full-length dive during a fielding drill in September and was forced to sit out the entire Matador Cup and the start of the Sheffield Shield season.

He managed 25 for Toombul last week in his first game back from injury and his latest innings should pave the way for a return to Queensland's Shield side next month ahead of the start of the KFC Big Bash League.

"The shoulder is really good," Lynn told cricket.com.au this week.

"I played club cricket last weekend, nine weeks from when I dislocated my shoulder.

"I'm aiming for a possible Shield game before the Big Bash, but if I don't make that I'll definitely be right for Big Bash."

Lynn made his international debut for Australia in 2014 on the back of good Twenty20 form for Brisbane Heat and was named captain of the Queensland Bulls for the Matador Cup prior to his shoulder injury.

In other Premier Cricket action in Brisbane on Saturday, Queensland veteran Peter Forrest managed 96 for University of Queensland against paceman Billy Stanlake (3-23) and a decent Gold Coast bowling line-up.

In Sydney, Shane Watson looked to be in fine touch for Sutherland against Hawkesbury at Glenn McGrath Oval, but the former Australia all-rounder was trapped LBW for 56.
