Proteas Warner's preferred WC final opponent

David Warner answered questions from fans on social media today as Australia gear up for tri-series final

David Warner has named the side he'd most like to face in the final ICC Cricket World Cup final on home soil during a live cricket.com.au Facebook question and answer session today.

The Australia opener took to social media to answer questions from cricket fans in what proved an enlightening exchange, shedding light on topics as varied as his favourite cricket moment, how he deals with nerves and who he considers the toughest bowler to face.

Asked who his role model was, Warner replied with Brad Haddin. The veteran wicketkeeper's longevity? His tenacity? His ability to score runs when his country needed him most?

"He seems to get away with a lot of stuff, and I have to learn from him haha," wrote Warner.

Warner also took the opportunity to pass on some words of wisdom to the next generation of Test aspirants just starting their careers, when asked if he had any advice.

"Easy one," Warner wrote back, "watch the ball."

With hundreds of questions to answer and time ticking away, a high strike rate was always going to be essential, with brevity proving the key for an under-the-pump Warner.

But the 28-year-old did elaborate on a number of choice subjects, including his favourite moment in the Test arena.

"South Africa Test in Cape Town," he wrote.

"Watching Ryan Harris bowl Morne Morkel to beat the number-one Test team in the world."

Far more decisive was his opinion on the toughest bowler he'd faced ('Dale Steyn'), his favourite location in India (Hyderabad) and the most annoying player in the Australia team ('Glenn Maxwell!').

Warner also revealed that of the 12 countries competing, he'd most like to face South Africa in the final.

The Proteas lost their ODI series against Australia in November, but have since made light work of the West Indies at home, with the 4-1 series score line highlighted by AB de Villiers' incredible record knock of 149 off 44 balls in Johannesburg.

Not surprisingly, Warner named de Villiers as the current batsman he'd most like to emulate.
