England confirm Test squad

Hosts make one change to squad for Women's Ashes Test as they seek win to stay in series

England have kept the core of the squad that lost the one-day series of the Women's Ashes, making just one change for next week's one-off Test.

England have added Middlesex batter Fran Wilson, who scored twin half-centuries in the two warm-up matches against Australia this week.

Australia lead the mulit-format Women's Ashes 4-2 after winning two of the three one-day matches on the back of stirring performances from Elysse Perry and captain Meg Lanning.

Wilson replaces Warwickshire's Amy Jones for the Test match that starts August 11 at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, the home of county side Kent.

A Test victory for Australia would put them in a superb position to reclaim the Women's Ashes with a six point lead and three Twenty20 matches (worth two points each) to follow with Australia the current world champions in that format.

"We have selected Fran Wilson as a straight swap for Amy Jones within the Test squad," the ECB's Head of England Women's Performance, Paul Shaw, said.

"Fran has been in excellent form with the bat for club and county this summer, and in particular has put in a couple of notable performances for the England Women's Academy against the Australians during the 50-over and two-day warm up matches.

"There is no denying that the result of the Women's Test next week will go a long way to determining the overall outcome of this Women's Ashes contest.

"The series is currently well poised with Australia holding a narrow two point advantage after the ODIs, but we have a very strong recent Test record against them, and this is certainly something that we will take into the match next week."

Four points in the multi-format series are up for grabs for a Test win, with the points split if there is a draw.

The Test match will be streamed live via cricket.com.au's mobile site and the Cricket Australia LIVE app for mobile and tablet devices only.

An ABC Grandstand simulcast of the BBC's coverage will be available on all platforms and devices.
