Finn to return home

England quick to 'work on technical aspects of his game'

England quick Steven Finn will return to the UK to continue working on technical aspects of his game, having not played an international match for the entire tour.

Finn played three matches on tour (all tour games) took 11-428 at an average of 38.90. On stats alone, Finn’s tour has been more successful than some of his England team-mates who have been given the nod for international duty ahead of him.

The 24-year-old leaves the tour with a better average than international bowlers Ben Stokes (39.23), James Anderson (40.58), Tim Bresnan (41.14), Boyd Rankin (41.81) and Chris Tremlett (53.20).

His tour batting average of 10 is also better than Anderson (8.16), Rankin (5.33) and Tremlett (5).

"Steven is one of our most talented bowling assets who has played and will continue to play an important role for England," said Ashley Giles, England ODI and T20 Head Coach

"He has been working hard over the last couple of months on technical aspects of his bowling and Steven and the coaches all feel continuing this work out of the performance environment will be beneficial for him."

Chris Woakes was added to England's ODI squad to cover for Stuart Broad, who is being rested for the first two matches in the Carlton Mid ODI Series, and is now likely to remain until the end of the tour.
