ICC World T20 Rankings: Sri Lanka (2nd) West Indies (5th)
The road to the semi-final
Sri Lanka opened their ICC World T20 campaign with a hard-fought win over South Africa before making light work of the Netherlands to the tune of a nine-wicket victory in their second match.
An Alex Hales storm caught the side off-guard in their only loss of the tournament to date but Rangana Herath made sure there would be no early return home, taking 5-3 to blast Sri Lanka past New Zealand.
The West Indies were comprehensively beaten in their opening match against the India, but a confidence-building seven-wicket win over Bangladesh steadied the ship.
The reigning champs then disposed of Australia in a spiteful encounter and cruised past the Pakistan to finish second in Group 2.

Men’s Semi-final 2
India v South Africa, Friday April 5 at midnight
ICC World T20 Rankings: India (1st) South Africa (4th)
The road to the semi-final
Historical rivals came face-to-face in the opening match of the World T20, India coming out on top against Pakistan thanks to a good showing from the side’s arsenal of spin weapons.
The 50-over champions then cruised past the West Indies and Bangladesh before bowling Australia out for 86 and recording a comfortable 73-run victory to finish top of the table.
The Proteas’ hopes balanced on a knife-edge for much of the tournament with all their matches decided by six runs or less. Luckily for the South Africans they overcame injury and player departures to win three of those four encounters and finish second in Group 1.
The squads
India: MS Dhoni (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Stuart Binny, Amit Mishra, Mohit Shrama, Varun Aaron.
