From huge knocks to brilliant bowling and injury concerns, here's how each of the Aussies travelled in IPL 2016

Gujarat Lions

Aaron Finch
Innings: 10| Runs: 339| Average: 42.37 | SR: 129.88 | HS: 74 | 50s: 4

WATCH: Finch again the star for Gujarat

Finch set the IPL alight with three man-of-the-match performances in four starts to begin the season. He didn’t bat in the match that followed due to a slight injury concern and was unable to force his way back into the Lions’ strong batting line-up in the three games that followed, but returned in their most recent outing against Delhi, scoring five at No.3. However the second half of his IPL stint proved less productive than the first, as Finch added just one more half-century to his tally.

WATCH: Birthday boy Faulkner sees Gujarat home

Faulkner featured in seven of Gujarat’s 14 matches, struggling to break into the star studded line-up in the latter parts of the season. While his batting was not called on too often due to the Lions’ powerful batting line-up, he scored a fighting 32 against Kings XI and his bowling reaped two wickets.

Andrew Tye

Perth Scorchers quick Tye was snapped up by the Lions for AU$104,000, but he has yet to make an appearance for Gujarat this season.

Rising Pune Supergiants

Steve Smith

WATCH: Smith scores IPL century

Australia captain Steve Smith was a key man for Pune scoring 270 runs at 45, but shortly after he registered his maiden T20 hundred he was forced to cut short his campaign due to a wrist injury.

Marsh had been in fine form for Pune after he was bought for a cool $1 million in February's IPL auction, claiming four wickets while conceding a frugal five runs per over, before he was unfortunately sent home from the tournament due to a side strain. Marsh has since had a scan which confirmed a minor side strain, but he will be right for next month’s tour of the Caribbean.

Adam Zampa

WATCH: Zampa snares a record haul for Pune

Australia’s first-choice T20 spinner was bought by Pune for $63,000 but took some time to break into Pune's line-up. Once he did, however, there was no stopping the leggie - Zampa proved a breakout star with his record figures of 6-19 the standout performance by any bowler in the tournament.

Usman Khawaja

Innings: 6 | Runs: 127 | Average: 21.16 | SR: 127 | HS: 30 | 50s: 0

WATCH: Khawaja stars for Pune

Brought in as a replacement for the injured Kevin Pietersen, Khawaja didn't miss a beat in his IPL debut, stroking two fours and a six in scoring 30 from 27 balls against Delhi. That proved his best performance from six matches played.

George Bailey

Innings: 5 | Runs: 84 | Average: 21 | SR: 85.71 | HS: 34 | 50s: 0

WATCH: Bailey unscathed after nasty head knock

The former Australia captain was a late inclusion for the injured Faf du Plessis, with his best performance a knock of 34. Most memorable though, was his encounter with Delhi's Nathan Coulter-Nile, who knocked off his helmet with a bouncer. Fortunately, Bailey was unscathed and able to laugh about it afterwards.

Peter Handscomb
Innings: 1 | Runs: 6 | Average: 6 | SR: 50.00 | HS: 6 | 50s: 0

Bought for $63,000, Handscomb has had limited chances for Pune to date, not required to bat in his first outing against Gujarat before scoring six against Mumbai.

Boland fetched $104,000 at the IPL auction and went wicketless in his first IPL appearance for Pune on May 1 against Mumbai. But he responded in his second match, taking 2-31 from four overs in their win over Delhi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Mitchell Starc

Starc was retained by RCB for the 2016 but unable to play due to his recovery from surgery, the paceman was ultimately replaced by England’s Chris Jordan.

WATCH: Watson, Weise combine in classic catch

The veteran allrounder has played every match for RCB this season and while he may not have had quite the impact he would have liked so far with the bat, Watson has been impressive with the ball, picking up crucial wickets.

Travis Head

WATCH: Head shines in IPL debut

The South Australian star has found it difficult to break into RCB’s ridiculously strong batting line-up, but he made the most of his chance when Chris Gayle flew back to Jamaica for the birth of his child, scoring 37 off 24 against Mumbai. He was given two further opportunities, scoring 6no and 11.

Of his four outings in the IPL so far this season, Richardson’s best by far was against Pune when he snared 3-13, including the prize wicket of Faf du Plessis.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner
Innings: 14| Runs: 658 | Average: 54.83 | SR: 150.91 | HS: 92 | 50s: 7

WATCH: Wonderful Warner does it again

Warner has put the disappointment of the World T20 behind him with a dominant tournament opening the batting for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The destructive left-hander has gone past 50 on seven occasions and now holds the record for most IPL half-centuries in the tournament's history. It's incredible consistency given the unpredictable and risky nature of T20 cricket and Warner's form has only been overshadowed by that of Virat Kohli, who has 919 runs at 91.90, including four tons and six fifties.

Ben Cutting

Innings: 1| Runs: 18 | Average: - | SR: 163.63 | HS: 18* | 50s: 0

Bought by the Sunrisers for $104,000, Cutting has made one appearance this season, scoring 18 not out.

Henriques has played every match for the Sunrisers so far this season, with a top score of 31 not out, but his biggest impact has been with the ball, where he's grabbed 10 wickets, including 2-19 against Delhi.

Kings XI Punjab

WATCH: Johnson's fancy footwork removes Jadeja

Omitted after two games early in the tournament, Johnson returned for a third on April 25 against Mumbai but has not been able to force his way back into the XI since.

Shaun Marsh
Innings: 6| Runs: 159 | Average: 31.80 | SR: 118.65 | HS: 56* | 50s: 1

WATCH: Marsh's fifty goes in vain

Marsh was last week ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to a back injury he picked up during the six-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19. He made an unbeaten 56 in that match and has reportedly carried a back niggle ever since.

WATCH: Maxwell stars with rapid 68

Maxwell’s IPL campaign had gotten off to a quiet start, but started showing signs of a revival with scores of 32no and 56, before plundering 68 against Kolkata. However the allrounder's campaign was cut short, sent home due to a side strain. He's expected to be fit to tour the Caribbean with Australia next month.

WATCH: Stoinis stars for Punjab

Picked up by Kings XI for $115,000, Stoinis was forced to wait several weeks between his first and second outings of the season, before hitting form as he scored 146 runs from five innings at a strike rate of 135.18, while also collecting eight wickets. He played a starring role in his team’s win over Delhi Daredevils earlier this month, scoring a half-century and snaring three wickets, and was named man of the match after dismantling Mumbai with 4-15. However, he then joined Maxwell and Marsh on a flight home, pulling out of the tournament due to family reasons.

Kolkata Knight Riders

WATCH: Hastings, Hogg star for Kolkata

Hasting’s IPL season was short-lived, with the allrounder ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an ankle injury suffered during training in mid-April.

The evergreen spinner started with a bang, taking 3-19 in his first match of the season but has added only one wicket to the tally since. However he was seriously unlucky against Kings XI on Wednesday when he was cruelly robbed of a wicket in his first over. With his second ball to David Miller, there was a noise as the ball went past the batsman, Hogg went up, the Kolkata players went up, Miller was unmoved. Replays showed the ball had clipped the leg bail, spinning it in place but not dislodging it.

Chris Lynn
Innings: 2| Runs: 25 | Average: 25 | SR: 113.63 | HS: 15 | 50s: 0

WATCH: Lynn adds to catalogue of classics

Lynn hasn’t made the impact with the bat he might have liked so far, but he did add another brilliant catch to his highlights reel with a piece of boundary line brilliance. He has also been using his IPL experience to draw on the vast knowledge of South Africa legend Jacques Kallis, with an eye to improving his batting against spin and improve his chances of a Baggy Green call-up.

Delhi Daredevils

The Scorchers quick wasn't called upon often this season, playing four games in total, but was impressive against Warner's Sunrisers, claiming 2-25.

Joel Paris

Scorchers quick Joel Paris was ruled out of the IPL before it had even started with a shin injury. Paris, bought by the Delhi Daredevils for AUD$63,000, sustained a "shin stress reaction" in WA’s round nine Sheffield Shield loss to South Australia.
