I love Aussies' on-field chat: Holder

West Indies allrounder Jason Holder says he endured a persistent running commentary during his whirlwind innings. And that's just fine with him.

In fact, the highly rated 23-year-old, who belted a stunning 82 not out off just 63 balls in the second Test at Jamaica's Sabina Park on Saturday, says there should be more of it in international cricket.

While Holder says it's true Australia make sure you're aware of their presence on the field, he added it was nothing to be concerned with.

"There's always someone in your ear at some stage of the game," Holder said.

"But I love it – that's cricket. I don't think it would be international cricket without it.

"It's something that should be done more often – obviously, in a very discrete way – and I think that's part of the game and I look forward to it.

"There's always a chance for us to give it, and that's cricket – you give it and you get it."

Holder's impressive innings was a rare bright spot for the under-fire Windies during this two-Test series.

After his match-saving maiden Test century against England last month, Holder's latest knock has only increased calls for the Barbadian to be elevated in the team's batting list from No.8 to make room for an extra bowler.

"I'm pretty much able to do whatever the team wants me to do and I'm one of those players who tries not to give up," he said.

"If the captain decides that he needs me up the order, I'll do it."
