Paris's IPL Daredevils dream dashed
Western Australia and Perth Scorchers quick Joel Paris has been ruled out of the 2016 Indian Premier League season with a shin injury.
Paris, who was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for AUD$63,000, sustained a "shin stress reaction" in Western Australia's round nine Sheffield Shield loss to South Australia in Perth.

The 23-year-old had a season to remember last summer, making his first-class debut for the Warriors in November last year before playing two One-Day Internationals for Australia two months later.
But it's in the four-day format for WA where Paris truly announced himself as a player with Test credentials.
In six Shield matches in 2015-16, the lanky left-armer claimed a remarkable 35 wickets at 19.57, taking a wicket every 36.4 balls.
On debut against Victoria at the WACA, Paris bagged six wickets in the match, including four in the first innings, in WA's heavy 356-run defeat.
In the following match, again in Perth, Paris announced himself a red-ball threat with 6-23 in Tasmania's second innings which helped WA record an impressive nine-wicket win.

Having been presented his maiden ODI cap by former WA and Australia left-armer Bruce Reid, Paris made his debut alongside Victorian quick Scott Boland on his home turf at the WACA Ground against India.
While he went wicketless, he was not the only Australian to feel the wrath of Rohit Sharma (171no) and Virat Kohli (91) on a batting paradise in Perth.
With the first match out of the way, Paris didn't have to wait long to register his first wicket for his country, capturing Shikhar Dhawan caught behind for six with his eighth ball at the Gabba.
Paris' unavailability leaves Socrchers teammate Nathan Coulter-Nile as the sole Australia at Delhi, where he will be coached by Sydney Thunder mentor Paddy Upton and led by former India paceman Zaheer Khan.
