Lynn stars as Guyana remain undefeated

Aussies in the thick of the action as the Caribbean Premier League action rolls on

The match in a tweet: Lynn for the win! Brisbane Heat star is on song again after a superb effort with the ball from Guyana Amazon Warriors sets up an emphatic win.

The result: Guyana Amazon Warriors (3-101) defeated Jamaica Tallawahs (100) by seven wickets with 12 balls to spare.

The hero: Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul was the best of a strong bowling effort from the Amazon Warriors, claiming the wickets of opener Chadwick Walton and the big international scalps of Kumar Sangakkara and Shakib al Hasan as he finished with figures of 3-20.

The Aussies: Adam Zampa (2-26) came under some punishment early, but the unflappable leggie was as resilient as ever, bouncing back to take two wickets in as many balls. While he didn't manage to pull off a hat-trick, his final two overs were tidy and didn't allow Jamaica to recover form their poor start.

For the second time in as many matches, Chris Lynn thrived in difficult batting conditions, striking three big sixes on his way to an unbeaten 39 from 35 balls.

The consolation effort: Jamaica's Imad Wasim was impossible to put away. The left-arm spinner leaked just six runs from his four over spell, picking up the wickets of Kiwi star Martin Guptill and Devon Smith along the way.

The international stars: It was a match to forget for the CPL's biggest names. Jamaica's Gayle (0) and Sangakkara (9) couldn't overcome the difficult conditions and excellent Guyana bowling, while Martin Guptill (5) suffered a similar fate in reply. In conditions dominated by the spinners, Dale Steyn bowled just two overs, going for 15 runs.

The support act: Pakistani Sohail Tanvir continued his excellent CPL to date, snaring the huge wicket of Jamaica skipper Chris Gayle with just the second ball of the match, sending him on his way for a golden duck.

The ball: Guyana quick Steven Jacobs introduced a brand new delivery to world cricket, the moon ball. In dewy conditions, the ball slipped out of his hand early and lobbed high over the batsman's head, as he joined an illustrious list of cricket's wildest deliveries. It's a delivery that just has to be seen...

The wash-up: Guyana's victory lifted them to the top of the CPL table with three wins from as many matches, while Jamaica are second on the table after their first defeat of the season. The CPL’s next fixture gets underway in at the same venue in Providence, Guyana (Sunday 9am AEST) with the Amazon Warriors taking on the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
