Kohli, Dhawan lead World T20 favourites to eight-wicket win in rain-affected Dhaka final

ScorecardIndia claim sixth Asia Cup title
India have surged to their sixth Asia Cup title with an eight-wicket win over Bangladesh in a rain-affected final in Dhaka.
An unbeaten 41 to Virat Kohli in union with Shikhar Dhawan's 60 paved the way for the Indians, before MS Dhoni finished the matter in a flurry of boundaries as the World T20 favourites warmed up for that tournament in style.
Quick Single: Australia pull off record run chase
With the match reduced to 15 overs per side after heavy showers, Bangladesh were sent in by Dhoni and stumbled to 5-75 in the 12th before a rapid 33no (13) from Mahmudullah gave the hosts a respectable total of 5-120.
Ravi Ashwin opened the bowling, finishing with 1-14 from three, while Jasprit Bumrah also impressed with 1-13 from his three overs.
After losing the early wicket of Rohit Sharma, India took control of the contest through Dhawan and Kohli, the pair finding the fence regularly as they settled into the chase.
Kohli, who has built his phenomenal ODI record on being a brilliant chaser, is already establishing a similar reputation in T20 internationals – in 19 innings batting second, he averages 84.22, with eight fifties and seven not outs.
One of those unbeaten innings was today, his 41no coming from just 28 balls as he ensured his side got over the line even after losing Dhawan, who posted his second T20I half-century but was ultimately out for 60 from 44.
India dominant at the moment. Bangladesh look very good but with @imVkohli and @ashwinravi99 India looks a class apart. Team to beat @t20WC

Dhawan's exit actually expedited the match's conclusion, with captain Dhoni (20no) blazing two sixes and a four from the six balls he faced to hand India the trophy and seal victory with seven balls to spare.
The two teams could well meet again in the World T20 on March 23; Bangladesh must advance from their qualifying group to face the hosts in Bangalore.
