Jadhav leads India A to big win over NPS

India A move clear on top of the Quadrangular A series table after comprehensive victory over NPS in Mackay

India A's Kedar Jadhav has continued his golden run of form with a brilliant unbeaten 93 to help his side to an six-wicket win over the National Performance Squad.

With the tourist's third victory of the tournament, India A now cement their spot in Sunday’s final, one game clear of today’s opponent.

Jadhav was yet again all class, hitting to all parts of the ground and reaching the fence on 10 occasions, picking out the spacious gaps left on Harrup Park.

The 31-year-old was left unbeaten on 41 as rain washed out India A's match against South Africa A on Wednesday and has now scored 134 runs without losing his wicket across two innings.

Big Victorian quick Tom O'Donnell was a shining light in the second innings for the home side, claiming each of the wickets that fell for the Indians and ending up with figures of 4-28 from nine overs.

Shreyas Iyer also chipped in with 62, sitting with Jadhav for a match-winning 135-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Earlier, India A restricted the National Performance Squad to 8-207 despite a brilliant knock by Victoria’s Sam Harper.

The 19-year-old entered after the early loss of Tasmania’s Caleb Jewell (0) and scored a quickfire 72 from 80 balls, in conjunction with Matthew Renshaw, who made 31 in his List A debut.

Harper, despite his small size, was able to pull and cut experienced quick Varun Aaron, reaching the fence six times.

The two combined for a 76-run stand for the second-wicket before Renshaw was undone by spin, trapped in front to Jayant Yadav (1-34).

Harper followed soon after, bowled around his legs by Shreyas Iyer (1-23) with Varun (3-58) taking the wicket of Matthew Short (30) to begin a dour period for the run rate.

Aaron makes key strikes for India A

Western Australian Clint Hinchliffe scored 43 in the final ten overs to boost the total to an ultimately- subpar 207, targeting the fine leg fence to anything short-pitched.

The National Performance Squad will need a victory over South Africa A this week to reach the final, with Australia A and South Africa A to play off tomorrow to keep their finals hopes alive.
