Queensland on top despite Turner ton

The allrounder posted his second ton in three games but the Bulls remain in the box seat at the WACA

A century from Ashton Turner has kept Western Australia alive but it's Queensland in a dominant position after two days of the Sheffield Shield clash at the WACA Ground.

After Queensland made 353 in their first innings on the back of 157 from Usman Khawaja, WA were in desperate trouble at 7-125 before Turner came to the rescue.

With support from Josh Nicholas (52), Turner battled hard in the first half of his innings before unleashing some glorious power hitting to reach 100.

It was there that his and the WA innings stalled as they were all out for 265 to be 88 behind Queensland after the first innings.

Queensland quicks Peter George and Luke Feldman earlier ripped through the WA top-order leaving them 4-47 with Jonathon Wells (9), Michael Klinger (8), Adam Voges (2) and Cameron Bancroft (16) all failing.

The Warriors were 7-125 and desperate when Turner came to the crease and unleashed with help from Nicholas. When the latter was out for 52 and then David Moody made nine, Turner had to trust No.11 Mackin to help him to his century.

Feldman took 3-50 for Queensland, George 3-85, Jack Wildermuth 2-55 and Swepson 2-14.

The Bulls had a tricky six overs to face before stumps, with openers Joe Burns (1) and Matthew Renshaw (1) surviving. They are 0-3 with 10 wickets in hand and a lead of 91.
