Australia add fresh faces for Brisbane

Marsh, Starc called in for second Commonwealth Bank Test against India

Shaun Marsh is set to be the beneficiary of Michael Clarke's injury troubles after the Western Australian and NSW paceman Mitchell Starc were called into the Australia squad for the second Commonwealth Bank Test against India, beginning Wednesday (December 17) in Brisbane.

Clarke left the field midway through a dramatic final day's play in Adelaide on Saturday, and scans revealed a tear in the right hamstring that had the national captain considering his cricket future in the post-match press conference.

Quick Single: Clarke openly ponders playing future

Marsh has scored two centuries this Bupa Sheffield Shield season and will likely assume a middle-order role alongside his brother Mitch, meaning the pair would become the first siblings in the Australian men's Test team since the Waugh twins last played together in October 2002.

The 31-year-old has played nine Test and posted two hundreds, including one in South Africa earlier this year.

Starc and fellow NSW paceman Josh Hazlewood, who was 12th man in the first Test, loom as possible replacements for Victoria quick Peter Siddle for the second Test at the Gabba.

Australia lead the four-Test series 1-0 after yesterday's thrilling 48-run win.
