Coulter-Nile re-injures left hamstring

Quick limps off the MCG during fourth ODI

A visibly distressed Nathan Coulter-Nile will take no further part in the fourth Carlton Mid ODI against South Africa after injuring the same hamstring that he had surgery on earlier this year.

The right-armer pulled up sore after bowling the final ball of his third over and immediately left the playing arena.

He had earlier got the breakthrough for the Aussies, having Hashim Amla caught at mid-wicket by Pat Cummins.

The 27-year-old will now have scans, possibly tomorrow.

The West Australian was ruled out for several months in June after he had surgery on a recurring left hamstring tendon injury.

The decision to go under the knife was reached after he had suffered four "minor" hamstring injuries in the space of just three months.

"It's so minor every time, a one or two week lay-off each time, but if I keep having one or two weeks lay-offs every four or five weeks in the season it gets a bit of an issue," Coulter-Nile said at the time.

"So I thought I'd just get in there, clean it up, stitch it up and hopefully be good to go."

Coulter-Nile's return to cricket via the Oppo T20 Champions League in September was delayed when he suffered a slight calf complaint on the eve of the tournament.

He played two out of Perth Scorchers' four matches in that competition, before taking an impressive 15 wickets in five games as the Alcohol. Think Again Warriors won the Matador Cup last month.

He continued his good form into the Bupa Sheffield Shield, taking four wickets and hitting 64 with the bat against Tasmania before picking up 4-48 in a man-of-a-match performance in the first match of this Carlton Mid ODI series.
