Coulter-Nile set for return from injury

Injury plagued quick will return to cricket in a Futures League clash for Western Australia

Paceman Nathan Coulter-Nile will make his return from injury in a Futures League match for Western Australia, starting on Monday.

Coulter-Nile has been sidelined since he hurt his shoulder during the Warriors' Matador One-Day Cup campaign last month, but the 28-year-old has recovered enough to feature in their four-day Futures League clash with Queensland at Lilac Hill.

Former Australia Under-19 spinner Ashton Turner will skipper the Warriors' side that will take on the Bulls, with Coulter-Nile looking to impress ahead of a possible Shield return before Christmas.

It's been a frustrating 12 months for the talented quick, who hurt his hamstring while playing for Australia during the Carlton Mid One-Day International Series against South Africa at the MCG in November last year, the injury forcing him out of contention to play in a World Cup on home soil.

Having performed well on Australia A's tour of India during the winter, he then suffered another setback with his troublesome hamstring against England in September, but looked like he was returning close to full fitness when he featured three times for the Warriors in the Matador Cup.

Queensland's side will feature experienced Shield campaigners Cameron Boyce, Peter Forrest and Cameron Gannon and will be captained by wicketkeeper James Peirson.
