NSW Premier T20 cup set for SCG climax

Finals day of Kingsgrove Sport T20 Cup to be held at iconic Sydney venue this weekend, with all matches to be live streamed

Australia Under-19 young gun Austin Waugh and England limited-overs star Sam Billings are both set to feature in an action-packed finals day of NSW's Premier Cricket T20 Cup this weekend.

The SCG will play host to two semi-finals and then the ensuing final on Sunday, with all three matches to be live streamed via the Cricket NSW website and their Facebook page.

In the first semi-final, a Penrith outfit featuring Billings and fellow Sydney Sixers batsman Jordan Silk will take on Hawkesbury, whose bowling attack is led by Sydney Thunder's Arjun Nair and another prodigious spinner in Usman Qadir (the son of legendary Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul), from 11am.

In the other semi-final, Sutherland – featuring Waugh and promising leg-spinner Daniel Fallins – will take on Sydney from 2.30pm.

The winners of those two games will play in the final from 6.30pm at the iconic Sydney venue.

The participating teams will be competing for $18,000 in prizemoney and spectators will be admitted free of charge in what looms as an exciting preview to the upcoming KFC Big Bash League.

Waugh makes measured, match-winning 60

Former Test allrounder Shane Watson last weekend belted a record 16 sixes for Sutherland in an astonishing knock of 114 off just 54 balls against Mosman to propel his side into the finals.

Watson, who's played seven games for Sutherland this season, won't feature on Sunday as he continues his preparations for Sydney Thudner's BBL|07 campaign but last week said he'd relished the chance to rediscover his roots at the Premier Cricket level.

"Most importantly, it's been a lot of fun to be able to get back to where it all started for me, playing grade cricket," he told cricket.com.au.

"It's special to be able to have my family around who I can actually connect with during a game. With all the rules and regulations around (and) the different areas that are sterile (in professional cricket), you can't really enjoy every aspect of what it was growing up.

"I'm definitely more well prepared than what I was last year. I've had plenty of time to be able to make sure that (my hamstring) is right."

Sunday's action will also be broadcast live on radio 2HHH-FM at 100.1 on the FM dial or via www.triplehfm.com.au.
