Injured Rahat Ali to miss Bangladesh Tests

Paceman joins growing Pakistan injury list

Pakistan paceman Rahat Ali has been ruled out of the Bangladesh tour after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The left-armer will miss both Tests against the hosts and his injury is the latest in a string of setbacks for Pakistan, who lost a Twenty20 International against Bangladesh on Friday after suffering a 3-0 defeat in the ODI series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said Ali had not yet recovered from a hamstring concern picked up during the first ODI against Bangladesh earlier this month, with a replacement player to be named if required.

Right-arm swing bowler Ehsan Adil was ruled out during ODI series, also with a hamstring injury, while Pakistan World Cup squad members Sohaib Maqsood and Sohail Khan were casualties before the start of the tour.

Legspinner Yasir Shah was also ruled out before the start of the ODI series with a hand injury.

The first Test in Khulna will begin on April 28.
