Sachin's music video delights his fans

The Little Master adds another string to his bow, releasing what's set to be a hit single in India

Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has become the latest cricketer to try his wares as a singer, releasing a single with renowned Indian performer Sonu Nigam.

Tendulkar has brought out the song - Cricket Wali Beat - as a promotional tool for his app, 100MB, which was released last Thursday.

"I am glad to be part of Sachin's new innings," Sonu told IANS. "I was very surprised to see the way he was pitching right.

"That's why I believe that when God blesses someone with genius, it spills in other faculties too."

Tendulkar is far form the first cricket to test the entertainment waters.

South Africa superstar AB de Villiers has released a number of songs in his home country - a fact that wasn't lost on a New Zealand ground announcer on the Proteas' recent tour.

Closer to home, former Australia paceman Brett Lee has been a hit in India with his own singing/guitar career.

Lee performed a hit single - You're the One for Me - with Indian singer Asha Bhosle during the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
