Coyte ruled out

Injured allrounder Sarah Coyte sidelined for ODI series

Sarah Coyte has been ruled out of action on the eve of the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars’ one-day international series against the West Indies.

The 23-year-old won’t be taking the field after suffering a muscular side strain during the third Twenty20 International in Melbourne on Friday night.

Coyte was a valuable contributor with the ball during the world champion’s recent 4-0 series sweep, picking up three wickets in three games at an economy rate of just 5.9.

“It’s disappointing that I won’t be able to see the series through,” Coyte said.

“I felt like I was in good form with the ball and was very proud to be a part of such a convincing series win over the West Indies.

“I wish the team the best of luck for the remaining matches and look forward to returning to the field soon.”

The 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup leading wicket-taker Megan Schutt will replace Coyte in the ODI squad for the upcoming series.
