Summer of cricket tickets guide

The summer of cricket moved a step closer overnight with the announcement of the 2015-16 Test schedule featuring New Zealand and West Indies.

There’s plenty for cricket fans to be excited about with the historic day-night Test in Adelaide and the return of five-day matches to Perth and Hobart. Of course, there’s also the traditional Brisbane opener, and the blockbusters in Melbourne and Sydney.

While ticket prices are still to be announced, Cricket Australia Executive General Manager of Operations, Mike McKenna confirmed there would be a different structure to pricing for the Test in Adelaide.

“There will be some innovative prices around the afternoon sessions which will make prices cheaper for some people,” McKenna told media at the Adelaide Oval today.

“The price of tickets increase marginally every year, they are CPI-based increases.  

“The entry price point has always been around $35 for Test match cricket, and I don't think it will be much different.”

South Australia Cricket Association chief executive Keith Bradshaw welcomed the prospect of special pricing structures for the day-night Test.

“They are looking at some innovative pricing structures in terms of the context of the game going later into the night and the ability of some people to be able to attend the game after work,” he said.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets for the 2015-16 international season will be available for purchase by the general public on Friday August 21 at 10am local time for the city the match is to be played in.

How do I get tickets before the general public?

If you don’t want to worry about sleeping in after the overnight action at The Oval, members of the Australian Cricket Family living in Australia will have access to a priority period from midday on Wednesday August 19 through to 5pm on August 20. 

You can join the ACF HERE, but make sure you do so by 5pm AEST on August 11 to have access to the priority period.

As well as special access to tickets, ACF members will be able to purchase tickets at a discounted price compared to those pre-purchased by the general public and at-the-gate. Oh, and it’s free to join!

ACF Gold members will be able to get in even earlier with access to tickets between 9am and 5pm local time on Tuesday August 18.

What’s ‘ACF Gold’ and how do I know if I’m eligible?

Fans that have purchased tickets during the ACF priority period in any two of the last three years will be eligible for the Gold offer. Eligible members will be contacted directly.

How do I find out my ACF membership number?

To purchase tickets during the priority period, you’re going to need to know your membership number. You can check your ACF details by calling the hotline on 1300 720 742, e-mailing acf@cricket.com.au with your request, or simply referring to your ACF e-mails in your inbox that will have your membership number displayed.

OK, but I want tickets NOW!

Well, you’re in luck. All you need to do is get the band back together and organise a group of 10 or more for a day, or days, out at the cricket. For more info, CLICK HERE.
